If you're building a Cobra there is no real choice when it comes to deciding what engine is going under the bonnet. It has to be a V8!

Ok OK, all the purists will scream sacrilege if it's not a Ford being installed but heh who's giving a hoot as long as it has the V8 sound and grunt. Anyway Chevy engines are easier to work on and parts are in abundance and reasonably priced.

I decided on a Chevy 350 small block with 430bhp. This has more than enough power for me. I purchased my engine from the engine factory in Florida. It cost approximately £6,500 including import duties and vat. They fly it to you so I had mine delivered to my nearest airport (Aberdeen). After taking care of the import paperwork and a short drive home it was sitting in my garage looking like a million quid!

The Engine Factory did a great job in building the engine and provided me with a video of it being tested along with the relevant paperwork. I ordered a year in advance and paid it off in installments.

The spec for my engine is given below....enjoy!!
